Mar 18 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Presented by: Dr. Veronica Barreto and Dr. Assabi Isaac

Course Description: Oral Cavity Cancer is on the rise. Each day, 100 new cases of oral cancer will be diagnosed in the United States, and every hour of every day one person suffering from oral cavity cancer will die from it. There has also been a shift in the demographic of people who are being diagnosed with oral cavity cancer, such as nonsmoking men and women under 50 years of age who typically were considered low risk. How often do you as the hygienist see oral cavity cancer? How do you perform your oral cancer screenings? How often are you doing it? When do you refer to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or an ENT doctor?

2020 Leadership information

It is hard to believe that the first month of 2020 has come and gone already. Our Board of Trustees held a very productive online Board meeting on February 1st and PDHA is busy with many exciting things! The Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association would also like to thank our Executive Secretary, Margie Mengle, for her decades of service to our organization. We wish Margie the very best for her well-deserved retirement. We are excited to announce that Tiffany Kilpatrick is our Executive Secretary effective January 1, 2020. The new address for Central Office will be 1804 Elmhurst Ave., Jersey Shore, PA 17740, however our email address and phone number will stay the same.

ADHA Award applications are now being accepted for the 2020 awards

ADHA’s 2020 Awards Program is a way to honor and recognize our members dedication to the dental hygiene profession (in various aspects of the dental hygiene world: clinical, education, public health, research, etc.).
