**Message From Our President**
As President of the PDHA, I would like to cordially invite you to attend Advocacy Day in Harrisburg on May 23, 2018. This is a platform for the collective RDH voice to be heard by our Representatives and Senators in Harrisburg. We have an opportunity to educate them on dental hygiene and who we are as clinicians and highlight our contributions to the overall health of the communities in which we serve.
This will enable us as a profession with one voice to connect at a grass roots level with the people who represent us. Successful legislation begins at the first handshake and personal interaction can help to pass legislation that will help to impact the lives of many individuals. I hope you will join us for a day that may serve to impact our profession in a positive way.
Lisa Maisonet, RDH, BS, PHDHP, EFDA, CDA

In May 2014, PDHA once again visited Harrisburg to spread the message of the PHDHP. A press conference was held on the steps of the Capitol Building and Senator Pat Vance spoke to the media about the importance of utilizing the PHDHP.
The Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association, Inc. recently visited Capitol Hill to discuss concerns of the Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner with legislators and the Department of Public Welfare. On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, we received a warm welcome in Harrisburg and helped spread the word about access to care issues. Please consider contacting your state senator or representative today to spread dental prevention awareness!
