The Fortis Scranton Dental Hygiene students hosted it's 8th annual Give Kids a Smile Day event on Saturday February 29, 2020. Approximately 30 children were provided with free exams, prophylaxis, fluoride, radiographs, and sealants. There were 19 dental hygiene students, 5 RDH's and 2 dentists that volunteered their time.

It is hard to believe that the first month of 2020 has come and gone already. Our Board of Trustees held a very productive online Board meeting on February 1st and PDHA is busy with many exciting things! The Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association would also like to thank our Executive Secretary, Margie Mengle, for her decades of service to our organization. We wish Margie the very best for her well-deserved retirement. We are excited to announce that Tiffany Kilpatrick is our Executive Secretary effective January 1, 2020. The new address for Central Office will be 1804 Elmhurst Ave., Jersey Shore, PA 17740, however our email address and phone number will stay the same.

In June of 2018 Tricia will celebrate 40 years as a dental hygienist to share her clinical and educational experiences with her audiences. Her lengthy background in clinical practice along with education has offered her the opportunity to share real-life clinical experiences in her courses for over 25 years.
Dr. Charles Whitney founded RHS in 2004. He has been a national leader in the Concierge/DPC movement since 2007. Dr. Whitney served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Private Physicians (AAPP) from 2007-2013, and was Vice President 2012-13. AAPP is the national trade organization for concierge medical practices. He served on the steering committee of the Direct Primary Care Coalition from 2013-16. He is currently on the speaker’s bureau of the Bale-Doneen Method of Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention, the program at the core of the RHS approach.
UPCOMING CE COURSE: This course will include a review of the oral cavity's role in digestion as well as the rationale for including this as part of patient education when relevant.
